The Gauntlet Falls
March 2nd thru 9th, 2006

Hi Sailors,
This Sat, March 4th is our next Formula Regatta. We'll be meeting at J-St about Noon with a start soon after depending on wind. The forecast is looking pretty good....(kiss of death!). Lowest tide is +1.6 at dusk, and well be racing at +3, so no problem there.
Be thinking of course changes from the normal windward/leeward. Maybe add a reach. Maybe add a long distance race.
Hope to see you there!
Robert

Hi All:
Bummer... the wind looks good, actually great for SD, and I can't make it on Saturday. You guys will just have to live/race without me and my North's.

That makes two of us. No not because my “ride” is not going…committed to taking my boy to the mountains this weekend.

AND I AM SICK AS A DOG (DID NOT SAIL YESTERDAY AND TODAY!!!!) BUT HOPING THAT WILL BE FINE BY SATURDAY....GABOR

Devon’s at midwinters, Joe and Peter can’t make it, but it seems I didn’t put quite enough arsenic in that bottle of vodka I gave to Gabor. Damn, I thought I might have had a chance to win a race this month.

I think that Joe, Peter, and Devon are just scared. They know I've lost some wieght and there's no way they can live it down if the fat man wins! I guess I'll have to sand bag a little to help boost the turn-out.
Next thing you know Joe will start calling Magic and Connie "cheater boards". It's not like he's ever measured them.
I can't see "sick" stopping Gabor. Dead maybe (only maybe), but sick? No. This is his chance to clean up w/the fraidy-bunch bailing.
Smack!

Now you've done it, you have pissed off the pope - me.
So now that you have substantially reduced your windage when would you like to match race for "pink slips"? Or if that's too high a price maybe you would rather go for just total control of the universe.
In either case you can bring either of your "cheater boards" and you can pick the place but I get to pick the time.
I'm ready.
Joe
ps. I will remember your complements when we invite you up to LB for the first annual long distance race that Peter has been encouraging.

I am intrigued. A match race w/the pope. All I need is a course with mostly sub-planing wind; always. Know a few too. How about a simple loop around Vacation Isle in Mission Bay. Start/Finish at Bahia Pt. Race for Pride; no time to control the universe and already have too many boards. I'm thinking we invite others who may wish for a thrashing.
BTW, I have been scheming about a LD race from Bahia to The Hilton (loop Enchanted Isle) and back as a "Tour of Mission Bay" race. Anybody interested?

So we are going to race for Neil Pryde? Cool, I know exactly what to do with him. Your on. Send me a list of your available weekend dates and I'll pick one.

Race On!
Any Sat or Sun where we do not have a SCRA/Cal Cup Regatta will do, or we include it in the May 6th Bahia Point Regatta. Might be fun to go a diff weekend than that though and follow up w/the red course "Tour de Mission Bay" Challenge for all.
Neil Pryde? How 'bout we raise the stakes to a Double/Double Meal (#1?) at In-N-Out? now that's worth racing for!
